Be Nice To Your Bridesmaids

So how many bridesmaids are you having for your wedding..??  i’m not having very much because i don’t have very much friends or relative here.  I had chosen three friends to be my bridesmaids but hang on a minute.. how would you expect your bridesmaids to dress up like..??  are you to tell them what you want them to wear.. or are you getting something for them..  without even consulting them..??

Since mine is a beach wedding .. almost anything that is not so formal goes.  Casual smart is also another good line to go with.  And you really want to be nice to your bridesmaid right..??  and I also wanted everyone to be happy, therefore i picked a color that i know will go with the theme of my wedding.. and that pastel colors.. which means pretty much .. any pastel color.  And my bridesmaids can pick their own style of dresses they want to wear.. whether it meant a halter, a strapless or with spaghetti straps.  So there you go.. i made everyone happy including myself.  Now do one pay for your bridesmaids dresses..??  I’ll let you know in another post later.

Wedding Colors

I was told .. that a wedding color has to be choosen for my wedding.  Now here i thought.. i chose a beach theme right..?? so shouldn’t that be enough.??  hhahaha!! well.. i was wrong.. a theme and wedding color are two very different thing.  I have so many colors i like.. but i loved pastel colors.. so i told my bridesmaid.. pastel.. anything pastel is what i would do ..  :)   I love the paper lantern.. and i’m on a mission to find it.. and if i can’t find similar .. i’m gonna buy plain ones from the dollar store.. and get some friends who are good with handicraft.. tohelp me.. with the butterflies.  Awesome..!! and that shouldn’t cost too much money.. i would think.

Wedding Pictures

Wedding pictures are one of the most important things in any wedding and it’s no different from what I want for mine.  Not only are they lasting memories for myself, but for my grandchildren as well. Surely this grandmother wants to look beautiful for them.

I hear that a professional photographer does make a lot of difference when it comes to producing good pictures.  For me, I would have to look at my budget of course, but the Hilton Head wedding photographers are not as expensive as I thought they would be. So I asked myself, will an award winning Pro Photographer like Stephen B. Dey take on my small wedding job? After all, he is a Master Photographer!  I’m pleased to report back that he does handle just about any kind of job from pre-schools to sport games and of course weddings too.

I’m interested in the Legacy Collection at $895 (this is what i can afford, you can choose other packages if you like).  For that you get the undivided attention of one photographer, unlimited images taken, final images provided in a bound magazine style booklet with leather cover, and final images produced on CD. Ordering can be done online for friends and family.  Super awesome, right? They take this task off your hands immediately.  No need for wondering who wants which pictures for keepsakes.  I’ts a service every bride and groom should consider.

Bridal Shower Invitation Samples

I took a look at some shower invitation samples .. and wondering if i should spend a lot of invitation samples..??  I’m trying to save some money on that.. but i guess if you want people to come for your bridal shower.. you kinda have to have some kinda invites right..?  Something simple.. and not so girly please..!

They say to try and give as much information as possible.. and if it is hosted in a house, a private map would be great. Don’t forget to put the full name of the bride.. and the date and time is important.. the venue, if you are planning a theme, it would be good to add on the invite.. so that the guests would come appropriately dressed.  Tell your guests what kinda food you are serving.. and make sure .. you ask them to RSVP .. else you might get too much party favors.. and also food.  Don’t waste food eh .. another thing would be not to include children.. if you don’t want to .. but let your guests know in advance.  I would include a spa session.. or even a makeover during the bridal shower .. if i can afford it.

But who pays for the bridal shower..?? the bride..?? the groom.. ?? or the parents..?? or the maid of honor..?? pray tell.

Bride & Groom Party Picks

Nice eh..?? these party picks are pretty retro yet romantic and great for using to decorate your wedding cakes.. or the drinks of your guest. Of course if you want to use them for the bridal shower or engagement party .. now that would be another idea too. I really liked it.. i wonder if i can incorporate this in my wedding without overspending. A set of 12 picks cost $7.95 .. and the best part of these picks are you can see both the front and the back of the groom and bride. Pretty awesome.. and great stuff. Chinese Wedding Doll

A friend sent a chinese wedding doll to me.. all the way from asia.. after knowing that I am having my wedding next summer. Very cute. .and very traditional.. and on one hand.. i wished to have a chinese wedding.. but on the other.. i know it is not possible.. because getting a “kwa” would be very expensive.  The traditional “kwa”, is a heavily embroidered formal wedding gown popular in Asia.. said only to be worn once in one’s lifetime.

This is how a traditional kwa looks like.  Something like that can cost right up to $800 or more.   But the details of the kwa is extraordinary.  i’m torn in between now.. if i should go with an evening gown.. or a traditional one…??

The Theme Of My Wedding

Finally, decided on the theme of my wedding. What do you think i would choose..?? I want it in the summer.. so that it is hot enough.. but not too, too hot. So the venue .. needs to be at the beach.. or at the seaside. A Seaside Wedding Theme would be easy .. i think.
